Pregnancy & birth

Birth Doula Support

Two prenatal visits, continuous labor support (in-person at hospital, birth center, or home), and one postpartum visit. On-call from week 38.

Kindred was founded in 2016 by Maya Tanaka after attending her hundredth birth as a hospital-trained nurse. Today our team of twelve certified doulas serves families across three counties, with all the experience and none of the gatekeeping.

Maya founds Kindred as a solo practice after a decade of L&D nursing.

2019

Expanded to three doulas. Launched our childbirth education program.

Brought on two IBCLC-certified lactation consultants. Surpassed 500 births attended.

A no-pressure 60-minute conversation to understand your goals and match you with the right doula on our team.

Prenatal Planning

Two prenatal visits to create a birth preferences document, walk through coping techniques, and meet your partner if applicable.

Birth & Beyond

On-call from week 38, continuous in-person support during labor, and follow-up visits in the days and weeks after birth.
